The Fathers' Home was inaugurated in February 1994 during the first World Conference on Unity of Man, held at Kirpal Sagar.
In India due to poverty most of the old people, though they are loved by their families, don't live a comfortable life. So the Fathers’ Home is the dire need of the time. Old people, having their long life-experiences, are able to put in their advices to help each other. Moreover they are trained in different jobs, and if they are able to guide, they can be a tremendous help to untrained people within the project.
They will be afforded to study the purpose of human life, so that they may understand even in the evening of their life if they did not understand so far. Thus their end may be calm and smooth. Those who want to serve selflessly will have the chance to do so. They can take up a suitable occupation in the various activities of the project. So they may find a fulfilment in the service of man and be carefree in an atmosphere of physical and spiritual welfare.
Dr Harbhajan Singh told about an old couple who was living in the Fathers’ Home: They had five children who were well to do but did not care for their parents. After some times the mother fell sick and wanted to see her children. They only came after ten days. The mother was in a very precarious condition, she met them very loveably, and when they went back she left the body. We asked her husband where to send the body. And he wept, "If there would have been any son of us who would have helped us we would never have wished to come over here. We have no one. You do all those formalities for us."
According to the rituals (of their religion) her body was cremated and we went to Hardwar, where the remains were passed over to the river Ganges. We asked the relatives, "What do you want to do further?" They said, "We want the reading of the Holy Ramayana." I agreed, and we brought four persons from Amritsar who were competent to read it. They asked us to participate, and we participated with all formalities. Many Yogis, Rishis and Munis also came there. When the relatives went back to Amritsar, they said, "People speak much about unity, but if you want to see the unity, go to Kirpal Sagar." In this way the teaching of Sant Kirpal Singh and the name of Kirpal Sagar went everywhere.
Those who are not wanted by anybody, they are at least wanted by Sant Kirpal Singh Himself. He said, “Okay, if nobody wants him, I want him.” Those who are helpless, they are being helped by the Godpower.
