Project

Kirpal Sagar belongs to all human beings of the world

The project Kirpal Sagar has been set up since 1982 in the Punjab/North India under the organisation Unity of Man and the chairmanship of Dr Harbhajan Singh and his wife Mrs Surinder Kaur.

Kirpal means 'Grace'; Sagar means 'Ocean' – thus the name Kirpal Sagar means 'Ocean of grace'.

Kirpal Sagar is a common ground for all people to get together, irrespective of caste, colour, creed, religion or country. It belongs to all human beings of the world. In Kirpal Sagar no religion but the basic teaching of all religions is taught, which is one and the same and has been written with one opinion.

The motto of Sant Kirpal Singh is very simple to understand: Be good – do good – be one.

Kirpal Sagar is a man-making and man-service centre, since the purpose of an awakened one is to develop the man from inside and outside. To develop the man means, to provide the man with the true knowledge, by learning which he would have the right understanding to discriminate between good and bad, truth and falsehood, mind and soul and understand the reason of his physical stay in the world.

The underlying conception of the project may be seen in connection with the ancient Indian tradition of non-violence, tolerance and spirituality. The management of the project under the present chairmanship of Mr. Karamjit Singh and the president Mrs Surinder Kaur has endeavoured to make everybody feel as man endowed with equal rights and dignity, and makes efforts to grant help for self-help.

Kirpal Sagar fulfils various purposes:

– to remove religious intolerance and fundamentalism by pointing out the underlying unity of all religions
– to provide physical help to the poor and needy
– to overcome class-spirit by giving an appropriate education with equal chances
– to help man to develop all around, physically, intellectually and spiritually

Exceeding by far merely local humanitarian help, the project all in all serves as a model for a spiritual life with higher values, furthering the realization of the basic human rights. In cooperation with voluntary helpers from the West the idea of humanity in the one world is put into practice.

Kirpal Sagar is neither being built in the memory of Sant Kirpal Singh, nor is it a personal wish. It was the wish of Sant Kirpal Singh which is being fulfilled by all devoted disciples of Him.
